Objective

A global beer brand wanted to convert the attention around the 2026 FIFA World Cup into an engagement-led activation that would anchor the brand to football fandom, capture clean first-party data at scale, and keep fans coming back daily, all within the compliance guardrails of a regulated alcohol brand.

Challenge

A global tournament delivers a wave of attention, but most of it is passive viewing that leaves brands with reach rather than relationships. The challenge was to build an experience simple enough to play in seconds yet compelling enough to return to every matchday, while capturing consented first-party data and maintaining strict eligibility and responsible-drinking requirements throughout.

Strategy & Execution

The brand activated Silverpush’s interactive experience platform to build a daily football prediction game, the Heat League. Fans predicted each matchday’s intensity, total goals, penalties, and yellow and red cards, and received a proprietary H.E.A.T Score out of 10 via a live animated meter that responded in real time. Predictions were scored against actual match outcomes pulled through API integration, with points feeding weekly and all-time leaderboards under a tiered prize structure. A predict-first flow let users play before registering, while a single-link architecture auto-detected new versus returning users to remove login friction entirely.

Every H.E.A.T Score generated a personalized, branded share graphic for WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, turning each prediction into a social moment that pulled in new users organically. Compliance was built natively into the flow through age gating, non-Muslim 21+ eligibility declarations, and responsible-drinking messaging, while a daily return loop of locked entries, countdowns, and dashboard re-entry sustained participation across the full tournament, with the scoring engine recalibrating by stage to keep scores in an exciting range as daily matches dropped.

Results

The campaign turned a global event into a daily habit. Across 34 matchdays, 2,766 registered users made 10,486 predictions, averaging 3.8 per user. The headline win was first-party data quality: 88.4% opted in with full age and religion compliance, two to three times the industry benchmark, producing 2,445 clean CRM contacts. The predict-first design drove a 100% registration-to-play rate with zero drop-off, and 27.8% of predictors voluntarily returned across two or more matchdays, with a superfan core predicting nearly every matchday of the run, moving the brand from reach to genuine relationship.
